Uploading videos??

Hey i need some help on how to upload pictures form a video camera to the computer then from there on to a site. We havent video taped anythign yet so i dont have alot of information to give you liek what kind of video camera or anything i just want basic info on how to do it. The type of site is a geocities site if that helps at all. But what i mostly need to knwo is up to get com on the computer and turned into the type of file so i can watch it in windows media player or somthing like that. Any info at all would be great thanks..

not sure if this is going to help you but on my digi video camera to get the pictures on the computer i link the computer to the camera with a usb cable that came with the camera, to get the video on the computer i had to install a firewire card in my computer to put the video on the computer, i have windows xp so it was a little easier, and i stored the vid where i wanted it and it automatically runs in windows media player.
