Hey, I have heard from a few people that the mid 90's CR125's have more *** than the new breed of CR's and some other new breed bikes. I was told that if you put like a 96 CR head on a newer CR that it will give that punch that a 96 has. I know this is true because i have done it to my friends and it had more *** behind each and every gear. he could wheelie sittin on the front fender and all was done is the head. The rest was stock. Now my question is if i ordered a aftermarket or OEM 96 cylinder head brand new, would it give me that same grunt that the 96 really has?

96 was a great year for the CR's. The 96' 125 was faster and more broad than the CR's after it until 2000 2001 models.

Actually, 97' was supposedly the best year for them. I don't find this true though. The 98-99 weren't great, but from 00 on the motor is definitely stronger than in 97. I don't believe engine parts between the years are interchangable without some machining.
