Smokey,

Thanks for the post.

I just got off the phone with Travis. He called to inform me about it. Joey will definitely be missed. Let us know the details of when they will be having the service and stuff, because I will definitely be there and if there is anything I can do. My prays go out to him and his family and friends.

As a fellow racer and friend, My thoughts and prayers also go out the Kish family. I know Joey had a lot of close friends who will sadly miss him.

I am in favor to propose changing the John Penton to the Joey Kish memorial.

Joey deserved to be on that podium at Milfield… I know with him overlooking us, maybe we could get some decent weather conditions in July 04.

HECK YEAH popo! I totally agree with you. I didnt find out about the Millfield race podium thing until later that evening because I was up there but He deserves that podium spot and we all know he would of been there again! We were all just with Joey at a local team race in Ohio and him and his dad was very excited about the up comming GNCC year of racing. My wife talked to his dad that day about it and we felt that he was going to be one who showed them how home town boys raced! I will be one along with my crew, to try and not let him go un noticed, He was a great racer and a great guy and we will miss him as part of our racing family!!!
GOD SPEED JOEY...Watch over us!

Johnny, don't forget about McD.

Eric McDaniels an up and coming A classer passed away a few years back on a street bike the day before a GNCC. He was a good guy.
I never met Joe Kish, and i regret it! He has my respect, i was there the day at Ohio, it was a muddy mess, noone knew who anyone was, and there was this guy that just kept clicking off the laps!!!! At the endof the race, for the first time in history, an A rider, someone who fell in the guidline of the new rule and was not eligible for Pro class put the smack down on the big guns!!!! And showed he had what it takes to be a top contender. Its a shame that the suits at RP did not give him the props he really deserved that day!!!!!! that upsets me!!!!!!

later, J

Godspeed, Joey,Jason,Bob,Eric,Matt,Cody,Dale,Blaze and all of our brothers!!!

The Kish Family
"We are all going to miss Joey more than words can ever express. Joey was our son, brother, friend, and teammate. He did many activities that our whole family followed and enjoyed very much. We supported and loved him with all of his dreams. He will never be forgotten by his family or friends. We want to thank all of the riders, sponsors, and friends for their kind words and prayers. "

youll never find someone more eager to help you than joey,im no where near being the racer he was,but it didnt matter to him.everytime he came to our garage he would tell us what we needed to do,and help set the bike up the way it was supposed to be.hell we didnt even know you was supposed to run razer 2 front tires backwards.he just laughed and ask how long wed been running them that way.this race season would have been all shakin up if #19 was on the front line this year.thanks for listening to me ramble on.we'll miss you joey.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Joe Kish. I started sifting through my ATV images from this season looking for pictures of Joe for his family. I was wondering if anyone who knew him might be able to tell me if he is on the Red bike in the image below. This is the Open A start at Rausch Creek. The rider on the Yamaha is #698 Joseph Gerges who won the class that day. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and Godspeed Joe.

The rider on the left is Joe Gerges, and the rider on the right is Brian Schmid in the post above. Kish was #900 on a 400ex. I only met Joe once, at Maryland, but after reading this thread the first time my heart sank like a family member had died. Hope he is in a better place now.
