View Full Version : trx 300 vs 400ex ahhhhhhh

ok my friend just bought a 400ex and i have a (look at sig) what engine mods should i hurry up and buy to catch up with him before he learns clutch! i wanna accelerate alot quicker with a lot better top end and more top speed. im looking at the big bore kits ($266) or the cam/piston package ($309) both are on highlifter and i need help! (i cant get a diff. fourwheeler)

A new quad (400EX, new 450 or dare I say it here, a Z400). Your 300 will prob never run with a stock 400 even with upgrades. Even if you could get the motor there, there is no comparison in terms of handling, etc. Hate to break the news to you....

Ive seen some 300ex's around that will stay with a 400 needless to say they put a ton of money into there machine.

O geez a trx will never have a chance in anyway, unless the trx is 4wd and it is really really muddy or snowy.

Save your money. There isn't a chance on God's green earth that you will keep up with him. Even if you did put all the money into the motor to make it keep up (really isn't possible anyway short of nitrous) it would be a rolling grenade. Sorry bud. :( Just have fun with what you got and keep saving dough!

If you've got some good mud tires on there, coax into the deep stuff and you might take him. Sorry dude, too heavy and underpowered... Look at the bright side, you've got the racks to hold the coolers for cold drinks. ;)

i have a fourtrax and it won't compare to a 400ex. i think i remember reading in a magazine a few years back "the home of the 70mph trx300." i don't remember who did this though. all i know is a stock 400ex will pass the trx 300 in 4th gear without any problem at all. actually, it might even do it in 3rd gear.

well, when my dad is on his, on an open street wide open, i can blow his doors off in 4th gear on my 250ex. i dont think you gotta snowballs chance in h3ll. sorry bud
