Well, here she is...

STRONG rumors are floating around that the base motor will have over 400 HP (about what the C5 Z06 has) and the C6 Z06 (released later) could have 500+hp. New 6.4L LS7 powerplant. Way to go chevy!!! BTW, if you notice early Viper influence, that would be due to one of the designers of the Viper is now working for team bowtie... :devil:

take note of the crossed drilled rotors and the lack of pop up lights. Somethin tells me that chevy has geared up for the GT40 release.

As always one of the best looking cars, but still the same old ugly rear end. Please fix that rearend! That is my only complaint.

could you please leave this thread on topic. LTandRaptor was just making a point of how negative you can be. If you dont have anything intelligent to say, please keep it to yourself. This thread is about the release of a new version of the vette. Not the old ones or anything else for that matter. Thank you.

My fiance and I have been discussing what type of car we are going to buy in the next 3-5 years as our "play vehicle"... at first it was the soon to be released VW GTI R32, but I must say, I might be savin some extra penny's and putting this on the list.... especially the Z06 version.

i really like it...

i'm just glad they kept the trade mark corvette rear lights... it ain't a vette without them... i wish C1 had those lights...

to me it looks almost like the C5 with just better flowing lines... i like the lights being open all the time... i think it gives the front character:D

Yep... I see alot of the C4 in the rear end (above the rear wheel wells & rear window) and C5 with Viper influence on the rest. The powerplants really have me excited!

Looks pretty good, I dont think GM will have to worry to much about the the Ford GT Sticker on them is supposed to be around $150,000. I'm sure the new vette will be much cheaper. The only ones buying the GT probly already have a few vettes laying around.

Very nice car, indeed. I was just about to set my deposit on the salesman's desk for a ZO6 and then I found out my wife is pregnant so I pulled it back. Now that I see this it gives me the itch again. Unfortunately, the wife and I just got done looking at 27 acres worth of property so the new Vette is going to have to take a back seat again:(

I like the new headlights. I always thought the Vette's looked goofy at night with the lights up. I don't necessarily like the big butt rear end but I read it's like that intentionally. This design provided the best wind tunnel numbers so it was kept. I'm really diggin' the new powertrains:muscle:

Yeah it was probably supposed to be out for the 50th anniversary but chevy has problems gettting cars out on time...especially with as many reorganizations that they have. The c5 was supposed to be out in late 1992 for the 40th anniversary...but due to budget cuts, reorganizations, quality problems, and numerous other bugs it wasn't released until four years later as a 1997 model. I wouldn't be surprised if is takes another couple of years at least for it to hit the showroom floor, we had spy photos in 1991 and 92 of the c7 and you know how that worked out.

The car isn't made to be crashed.
