View Full Version : Need help with 250r khenin 36 pj carb!!!!

hey i have a 36pj carb that i want to take off because i got a pwk 38 air stryker carb.......and i got the carb of but i can not get the lid off....it has a gold piece on the top and the throttle cable will not fit through......i been trying mant things but cant get it of PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! here is a picture kind of showing the lid

I had the same problem with I went from the stock 34PJ to a 38 A/S on my R. It was a long time ago, but I believe I had to get a new throttle cable (the one without the lid attached) from Service Honda, since the PWK's use a different size/style lid.

I have a universal cable for my 250r, it uses a 38 a/s and a 400ex thumb thottle, its made my motion pro. for awhile I pulled off the gold piece and ran it like that, the only problem is every once and awhile when I start the bike the cable would come out and stick the throttle open.

i got the universal motion pro cable out of Nacs racing. im using a 38 a/s with my R throttle.

I got mine from Servica Honda. I think it was about $12. www.servicehonda.com
I'll see if I have the part number laying around this weekend. You could call them and ask for it. They are pretty helpful.

i called my local Honda shops and they said they do not carry the universal throttle cable

That's because local shops suck! lol. Call Service Honda, their prices are way better than local dealers anyway.
