I have had people say very good things about both but which one should I go with.

The kind of riding I do:

Mostly track but Im no pro of course.

I've heard both are awesome exhausts but I've never tried the HMF. I'm very happy with my Sparks. The sound and the quality are awesome!

That is a tough one.. I have the x6 on my 416 and Colby has the HMF full system on his cannondale.

We sell both but I sell more of the HMF slipons than the HMF full system and I have sold a lot of the sparks x6 also..

I think you will be happy with either choice.

So, isn't it better to do the full exhaust? If I went with the full X-6 , what would the price be? <best price>

i think it comes down to $$$. i love my hmf, but if you want the best performace money can buy go with sparks. i sold my wb R4 for the hmf for the quiet core

the dyno reports for the hmf slip on vs complete don't impress me. look at hmf's website. if you did get hmf, i would get the slip on unless you just want to say "i have a complete system." i got my complete sparks x-6 stainless steel for $495 including shipping and the two exhaust gaskets. however, the ceramic pipe is cheaper. i can't remember how much. somewhere between $20 and $40 if i remember correctly.

Yeah I switched from a X-6 to a full HMF, the HMF isnt dialed in yet, but it seems the sparks is alot louder and more powerful (track riding). The headers on the HMF are huge but it almost seems a little overkill

Looks like the sparks kicks ***, now to see who will give me the best deal. Also, what jet kit should I go with?

Just get a few different size jets from a honda dealer, or C&D, etc.. Jet kits cost alot of money... The HMF pipe is built like a tank and a little quieter, but also heavier, the Sparks is lighter and will hold up just fine.

Basically on a stock motor the slip on vs. full isnt going to be alot different, put if you port the heads, bigger bore, Carb, etc... The full exhaust is going to show alot more gains. The headers on the HMF are huge, so for a stock head and motor I dont see a benefit

You are fine for jetting now as long as you are still running stock, lid on, end cap on the silencer. As for jetting if you have never done it before its a god idea to have a shop do it, and watch as they do it. I, still trying to get my brothers quad jetted and it is tuff. I had it jetted good for the Sparks, but put the HMF on there and cant get it jetted for ****.

another question. What about the FMF pipe? How is that pipe?

you be better off with a hmf or sparks than the fmf..i think fmf makes great 2-stroke pipes but i dont care much for em when it comes to their 4-stroke pipes..but from what i hear sparks and hmf are both grea..i see more people run hmf around here and they seem to work good..also if u do mostly racing you might wanna look into a TC pipe..i know their pipes are awesome for racing

Great, now i need to know which jets to get.

jetting will depend on your altitude, temperature your riding in, other mods done, etc. i would say a 155 or so will do great in warm months if you are all stock. a 158 or so might be better in the colder months. sparks recommends a 152 without a lid, but i think that is a little small.

forgot to mention, i would just buy the individual keihin jets and not the jet kit.
