I just bought a 99 Z71 silverardo with 67,000 on it. I want to lift it. I originally wanted 35's but its just not practical for me driving everyday. I was thinking a little suspension lift and some 33's. Anyone know how much lift is needed for that? Im trying to stay away from body lifts. Anyone have any pics or know what i can fit on there stock? I will get pics as soon as i can.

03 Siverado here & stock it comes w/265/75/16 .......I think
I have 285's on it now w/out any lift, & that's the biggest tire I can put on it.
Someday I might lift it, but with all these new quads coming out, I'll just wait a little longer

Do you have pictures? Anyone have pictures. Yeah I really want to know what it takes to put some 33's on there. I know 35's require alot of cutting and welding and driveshaft work and all kinds of stuff. Hopefully to just put 33's on its not so bad

if 285's are about 32's you could probobly just get away with a 2" body lift on it and the 33"s may fit. But im not so sure i want that sweet looking gap between my bumber and my tailgate. Im gonna have to start doing some research.

here's mine......8" pro comp lift (pro comp only makes 6" now) on 35"x12.5" tires. it still hits the rear of the front fenders a little when bottomed out....but not enough to bend anything.

yes, some arsehole broke into it this day...............

I have your exact truck and I have Yokohama Geolander AT+II's 285/75r16 and they fit perfectly with my front torsion bars raised. No rubbing or anything. Yokohama says their tire is a full 33 inches and 11.5 inches wide. Now i never measured the actual height and width, but I will take their word on it because i know many companies tires vary in actual size. Soon I am getting the Pro-Comp 6-inch suspension lift for my truck w/ 315/75r16 Nitto Terragrapplers. Hope this helped you out.

02,

and BTW......these trucks are nice daily drivers, if they are taken care of and not beaten up....ie.......loose suspension, rattling........mine is very quiet and smooth, no rattles......some of the same year and newer are terrible with noise. I will go with BFG all terrain tires next time...the mudders are pretty noisy on the highway, and i put alot of miles on this truck going to races and plain weekend trips. I did have to replace the intake manifold gasket this past weekend....that sucked, but it did just turn over 102,000 miles......everyone tells me they think it has less than 50,000 on it. just take care of it and it will run and look awesome!! I do live in arizona...that helps with the nice roads and weather though........ it doesn't burn a drop of oil, or anything....chevy 350's will run forever, and i like the new 4l80e trannys....no problems with mine at all. and I tow with it almost every weekend between 300 and 500 miles........................!!

I'd say to be safe with 33's you would wanna go with at least a 3" lift. Its an easy lift before getting into alot of other parts. Thats also my plan with mine. Right now I got 285's. Here is a pic of mine. Its not quite to the calibor of deserts but I like her!

i have a 3" body and 2" suspension and 35x12.5x16.5 mt's on 16.5x9.75 wheels

for the suspension part i put 2" rear lift blocks under it. front i found a different set of torsion bar cams on ebay from a company that allowed you to raise the truck more with the torsion bars.. i then put Rancho shocks for a 4" lift on it because my stock ones were fully extended after raising the torsion bars. the ride is a tad rougher but a cheap way for 2" of lift..the whole deal cost around $300 and the shocks were $200 of that.. just an idea that would prolly allow you to run 33's on like 16x8 wheels with a cheap lift instead spending $1300 for a real suspension lift.

i love my mtr's. i have 315/75/16. they ride really good. how many miles do you have on your tires? i have about 20-25 thousand on mine. not exactly sure. i just want to know about how many miles you are getting on those tires.

there is not need for cutting if you want to run 35 on that truck. all you would need is 3 inch body lift or a 6 inch suspension lift. the suspension lift looks better and will ride better but its like three times as much as a body lift but with a body lift all your doing is lifting the body so i think its cheating. i own a 98 z-71 with procomp 6 inch lift with 35 and i think i am going to squeeze 37 under it. i will not cut my fenders either. i am going to find out if they fit or not. but that will be later in the future. right now i have plans on getting the 450R so thats first then the 37's.

i had a 2000 z-71 ext cab,i got the 3" body lift and ran 33/14.50s on 16-10 wheels.looked really great. i did have to trim a small piece of plastic on the back of the front fender well. my cousin used a 4"rancho susp lift and ran 35/12.50s . it looked real good but there pricey

Stock 2500HD with 33's. The torsion bars are cranked up 7 turns and thats all thats done. They rubbed a little at first but now they're fine.
