Your email has some type of spam filter and it's occasionally interpreting a message notification as junk mail. There should be settings for this that you can play with.

What program or service is used to filter your email? You should be able to allow certain senders or domains to an approved senders list, or something of the sort.

While on the subject does anyone have a recommendation for a junk mail filter program? I get tons of e-mails daily for prescription drugs online and it's very annoying. Sorry to bust into your thread Tina! For what it's worth I keep adding these e-mails to the junk senders list on Outlook but it hasn't slowed it down at all.

its because when you had first signed up you checked off "please notify me wen my post gets a reply". or something like thatt. I Made the mistake of doing that too.

Well Tina, with MSN, I'm not sure.

The ISP I work for pays for spam and virus filtering that we provide to our customers. The name of the service is Postini. This service kicks ***! It allows the customers to adjust their junk mail settings, virus settings, approved senders, approved domains, etc.

Not that it helps you any, but this is what I thought you *might* be using, but obviously not. To my knowledge, MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. does not have a adjustable or programable filter.

If I can be of any more help let me know, wait...I havent help you at all...:)

Soemtimes I get some seriously messed up stuff that still comes through even with mine set to moderate. Are they still able to get through with it in HIgh or VERY HIGH? I would think it would be very hard for anyone to even email you if it was set that high..... I will be glad when they pass law for that"do not email" list like they did for the "do not call"list. That will cure some of this junk we get

Sorry to bust your bubble...but the "do not email" list will probably never actually work. A lot of the new viruses that are being propagated now, infect your machine and notify the "sender" that you are now infected. The hacker then uses your computer to send out spam, erasing any trace back to themself making it impossible to punish to punish them.

Technology...isnt it wonderful:rolleyes:

There are services, not programs that really do work to help the "spam jam" www.postini.com.
