You should check the power and suspension forums. In my opinion, do suspension mods first. Take it form a guy that built his motor first. A great runing motor is fine, but if you can't control the power, then it is useless. Although a good pipe and filter is a nice start. Sparks make great pipes but are expesive. Do some research and find what fits your needs best. Congrats on buying a great quad and welcome to the site! :D

Yeah, i think I definitely need exhaust , filter, and jet kit first. Suspension would be next. I just need to know where the best deals are!

HMF and Sparks are both great pipes for the 400EX. I have used both and they are both awesome. You should check out C&D racing because you will be able to get a discount on your purchases.

The next big mod you will want to do to your 400ex is replace the front shocks with Aftermarket shocks.
