View Full Version : Supermotard---But for quads? What do you think?

After watching a few super motard races on OLN, it appears to me that it would be a great venue for quad racing also. Similar to a TT setup---Just faster.....

Anyone else?

it was attempted here in wisconsin. glen curtiss started the supermoto thing here in wisconsin 3-4 years ago. when things first started he ran bikes and quads. at best we saw 10-12 quads show for some events, but most of the time it was only 6-8. quads are a thing of the past when it comes to supermoto at road america, but i think he still has some quad pictures posted at www.superbikers2.com. look under the picture link for the 01 and 02 seasons. you're right, same setup as tt. 52 compound american racers were the rears of choice, with ungrooved radials on the front (same fronts as the mx guys w/o custom grooving.

you can also see handfulls of pictures of Benny Carlson on that page. those are pictures of him cutting his teeth on the supermoto scene for the first time. and now he's a factory rider for KTM supermoto team. i think his number was 27x/27k in many of those pictures. he and flattracker JR Schabel are definately the biggest two wheeled products to come out of this small town!

I think if pros got into it, it would be SICK. I love watching it. Jus think Tim Farr an Dana an Doug gust be so sweet.

umm anyone see the aprillia 450cc v-twin supermoto bike on the front page??

Imagine that motor in a quad..... :) It might have to happen. How hard do you think getting ahold of that motor would be?

Well, it's nice to know I wasn't the only one thinking about that while watching that race.:D

I agree with the idea about the pros running in this!:cool:

Knobbies............NO THANKS!!:eek2: seems like it would just try to high side & roll the tires? But yeah I bet ya go thru a set of tires pretty quick.

That's what those guys are running it seems. Probably some good hard compound TT Tires would work well with "0" toe in. Sway Bars would be good too!

Hmmmmmm..............Dual piston calipers, braided lines, leathers, ................this will be expensive!:D

Ohhh... that's brings back an unpleasant memory... One day last summer her jeans where lying on the bed. On a whim, I decided to see if I could pull them on. It was a little tight, but I got them on. She walked in, looked, and started to walk away. All of a sudden she stopped... you could see realization coming across her face like storm clouds... she yells at me, "Are those my jeans?" Oh she wasn't happy that I was able to get in them, I figured that was the only way I'm getting in her pants... :D I quietly added 10 more minutes to the treadmill timer...

On another whim, her silk panties where lying on the bed... :devil:
