Well after about 5 months of riding...and I don't race, my wb silencer cracked in about 4-5 places. The end of the silencer almost fell out....I had a guy weld it up for me, and its fine now. I have the places where it cracked circled in red....I think its time for a sparks.....http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid89/p21d25d1d85a1bb28c96a7d03264702c1/fa8a3e23.jpg

Bummer, that is one of the newer 'reinforced' ones also. The older ones do not have the bracket from the s-pipe to the silencer.

Have you tried calling WB for any assistance?

Don't bother sending it in. You did the right thing by having it welded, if you send it in for a new one, it'll crack in the same places just like the one you have now. Most people that have them welded never have another problem. Mine's about ready to see a welder right now. I still think rubber mounting (like the stocker) would help this problem a lot.

Ya knowthe more & more I read these it sounds like WB ahs a problem w/ thier welding on the seams. My hubby's did the same thing, we haven't got it fixed yet though.

I've hat my wb for a year now and havnt had a problem yet. I love it. I guess they might have gotten a bad batch that came out. My other riding buddy has one too and he has had his since 99' and hasnt had one problem with it.

bummer, that's ugly.....I'm running the WB R4 Pro meg, which flares out before it meets the silencer.....no problems yet, but it does make that "overtorqued aluminum" popping sound every so often.....with only one mount from the head gasket bolts to the tip of the silencer, I'd say it's poor design waiting to fail.
I'da' probably gone the FMF route, if I had it to do over again.
