do i need to rejet if i take the endcap/spark arrestor off my 400ex? its all stock.

I would think so because you are increasing air flow

I don't think so. That doesn't add any/much hp, just makes it louder.

well i had it off only for a couple minutes to see how it was and i went wot down the runway and back. i like how much louder it is but i didnt loose any hp, it felt the same if not a little faster. if i dont have to rejet, id like to take off or gut it...now only to convince my dad to let me do it.....:p

stock mainjet is a 148. this is what i did when i modded my airbox lid and gutted my stock pipe:
152 main in the winter
148 (stock) in the summer
150 in the months in between

yea, im thinking about running a 155 in my 400ex carb on my 330 in the winter, and then running a 152 in the summer. but it all depends on how it acts with those jets..

BTW: THere is a 45 pilot jet in my carb...is it ok to leave that in there....the choke is removed
