How come the 450r uses a 42mm carb and the crf450r uses a 40mm? Does the fcr make up for the 2 mm or something? I was wondering because i was thinking of getting the 40mm fcr for my 400ex then when i get the 450r putting it on there. One more question, how much of a deposit do you have to put down on the trx450r?

The deposit depends on your dealer. All I had to do was give my c.c. number w/ no charge to it, for him to hold my spot, that is probably because it will be the 4th bike that I've bought from them. It is normally around $100.

The FCR is that much better of a carb. Im sure we will se some people comparing with both carbs once its out. Buying a new carb is not the first thing on my list.

I had to put a 500$ deposit down on my 450R. Im also only 21 and I went to a big dealer. Maybe if the local Honda dealer knows you then you can put a deposit for less.

I agree with bretmd94, the FCR carb found on the CRF is far superior to the carb on the TRX450. I'm sure alot of people will be changing the carb on the TRX to the FCR on the CRF450.
