Hey I don't know which quad to buy.. Yamaha 450 or Honda 450. Well i know some stuff about the Yzf450 but nothing about the Honda 450 and i have always stuck with honda. Should i wait and see what kind of feed back comes with the Honda or just go with the Yamaha. Thanks

your definately going to want this honda...all these people with these crappy yamahas will feel sorry later on when these TRX450r are beating them. They are already setting uop excuses about no electric start & stuff....its kinda pathetic

i would probably go with honda for reliability and it might even be faster and if not with the money you didnt have to spend extra on a yfz buy one of those power kit things

I only see one downfall with the Honda. No electric start. But the guys that have rode it CAN'T believe how easy it starts with the kickstart. They claim it is one of the easiest and quickest kickstarts ever!

ONe of the guys that test rode it said they could kick start it while sitting down. That means its very very easy. Just sitting and kickstarting my old 350x is not possible. And i never even thought that thing was tough to kickstart.

I say either wait or go with the honda. Both bikes are about the same. Yamaha's have been known for being unreliable, but the CRF450 is one of the only Honda's that has been labled as unreliable also. So it really depends on preference. I put my deposit down on the 450R once we got pics.

I think it depends on what kind of riding you are going to do. If you want the most cutting edge technology and performance and are interested in a real closed coarse racing bike,go with the Yamaha. If you are looking for a sport bike go withe the Honda. Yamaha has a much better infrastructure and is more focused on helping out racers through there GYT-R parts and accessories.

I would wait on buying until the honda comes out if you are unsure about which quad. I think both bikes will work equally well and if you are a Honda man you will probably feel better on the honda. I would also say that if you are that worried about electric start wait and see at a dealer if it is easy to kick for you or not. Then if you don't like it buy the yfz or just wait a year and see if honda will come out with an e-start version because the are coming out with a crf450 trail bike with e-start my guess is that they will also put it in a quad but that is only rumor not fact.

i am a red man. i only ride red. i am not saying that yamaha is not a good bike. what i have heard it is really good but i think the honda is going to be better. i love the look of the honda. its all personal perference, just like there are ford people and there are dodge people and there are chevy people. i want the honda NOW! but i am having to wait. i am soppossed to go put my down payment down in the next week or two. i am just waiting on my dealer to give me a price.

Last few comments are the ones to listen too. the first few are the ones you definately shouldnt listen. People who state that yamaha people are already making excuses about why their quad wont measure up are dumb*****e$ at best and should be deleted before they can contaminate the gene pool.

well the thing is that I really don't care about electric start or kick start I DON'T CARE!!!!! but all im saying is that I want to see which quad performs the best in all aspects.

just take a deep breath and wait to see the reveiws on it thats what i'm doing. $7000 is alot of cash and it's nothing to decide on impulse buying.

Well if you always stick with Honda my guess is you will here too, if it ends up when both machines are compared and the yamaha is better it wont be by muhc and you will still choose the honda.

The real answer is wait till there are a bunch of big comparisons between both quads, than make a descsion, people who are saying the Honda is better or Yamaha is better are only doing paper shootouts and those dont count for much, just look at the Z250 vs the 250EX

Everybody here says Honda.

Ask this same question at the Yamaha site, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what response you'll get...

In all honesty, I don't think you'll be dissapointed with either quad...
