Just picked up a fiddy yesterday. Ordered the handlebar kit, & wondering about the lift kits - Are they worth the $$$ & how do they hold up???
The stiffer springs any good??? When sitting on mine, I already bottom the rear to the rubber grommet. (I'm 185lbs)

as far as I can figure, it's just honda cashing in on the name recognition of the CRF's. When I rode one, it was a Z50, then they updated it and renamed it the XR50, and now the CRF with no obvious changes. Saw one of the totally chromed out Z50's the other day...remember those? fat tank, fat tires,....too much fun.

 :eek2:
they arnt the same!!!!!!!!

xr has more front travel at 96mm and the crf at 89mm
crf has 1mm more travel in the abck
crf is 1mm shorter in the wheelbase and shorter in seat height!

xr 3.0 litre gas tank
crf 3.6 litre + 0.9 litre reserve

So its a hard choice more travel in the front for less in the back ? but a smaller gass tank?

or less front travel and more rear travel! shorter and a bigger gas tank !

Oh yeah here: http://honda.ca/MotorcycleEng/CurrentModels/Comparison.htm?class=3&model=XR50R3&model2=CRF50F4&model3=

ps: my bicycle has more travel in the front and rear then those mini bikes

yikes, sorry, no more "seat of my pants" assesments about zooters....sorry. I gotta' say, tho...1mm more travel? 7mm more travel? why bother....my litespeed hardtail mountain bike probably gives more travel, too, simply through the TI frame flexing than these lil guys give through susp.
I'm considering gettin a couple to run out in the side lot, so's I can school my little man in the ways of going fast....but Elka's spoiled me on my quad..first order of business would be to slap some new boingers on them. Preferably, a set of boingers that measure travel in inches, not sissy european millimeters.

I don't understand this 50cc craze. What's the appeal of them? We have a honda spree 50 for a pit bike at the drags and it's mildly more exiting to ride than a bmx bike.
