Popup ads when not online???

ok, my friend has this problem....every time they turn on their computer, after its on, they get pop up ads on the screen, even if they dont do anything and they are NOT online...and they get some while they are online too...any idea what might be wrong or whats up??? they had kazaa, but they deleted all of that the other day....so any help appreciated as to why you would get pop up ads even if ur not on the internet! thanks guys..

Spyware. Have them run AdAware 6, and clear thier cookies and temporary internet files, and history.

THANKS GUYS!!!!! solved her problem, no more pop up ads!!! i also ran it on mine and got over 50 items that are spyware:eek2: thanks guys!

Thanks for the ad-aware tip. I knew I had to get a anti-spyware program but I couldnt find any free ones. Ad-aware worked great and made my computer noticably faster.
