How to cut front plastic

i want to cut my front plastic. what tools have worked best for the job. i don't want to hack it up. maybe like a dremel tool to cut and sand ???

i used tin snips.....cut very slowly and DO NOT let the scissor blades close

I used a fine hacksaw blade, marker, and some finishing sand paper.

the first time I ever cut my plastic I used a hack saw and sandpaper. The second time I used a Jig Saw with a metal blade on it. That worked much better. It works best if the saw is on full speed. If you go slow it jerks the plastic too much.

Yeah, a jig or sabre saw works pretty good. Then you can touch it up with an electric hand grinder.

Where to cut the fender's is all personal preferance, there is no set way to do it. Some guys like to make the leftovers have a point on them, some make the a small curve. Just do it to what you think looks the best. Take some tape and play with different lines to cut on. Then mark both sides identically with a black marker, then cut away. just make them look how you want them to look. I saw a guy once cut flames into the plastic when he cut them off. So there is no set way as to what to leave. Al

If you want them to match both sides you can either keep cutting or sanding each side untill you have sanded all the plastic away(JK) or just use some cheap masking tape to outline your cut.

That way you can see the line before you start cutting.

It also helps to use the outside line of the tape since you will have 3/4" width of the tape just in case you get off line.

yea that looks pretty sweet, was it really hard cuttin throught that large buldge where that warning sticker was.

i was thinkin to make mine smaller, like a half oval shape, crescent shaped......just havn't got the balls to try it yet. i am afraid to ruin my plastic. but it is ridicelas to buy race cut when i still have my brand new plastic.

i will do it next week when i put on my +2 arms and my works dual rates with rezzies

300ex rules that is hot. that is eactly how i am gonna cut mine. hey i gat that same 909 sticker in the exact same place, and i got the 87 250x holder, it is pretty sweet.
