View Full Version : 400 EX/ FCR thumb throttle cable

For those that have been searching for the right throttle cable for their 400EX thumb throttle to the Keihin FCR carb. The search is over. The throttle cable off the '04 Yamaha YFZ 450 works perfect. The Yamaha part # is 5TG-26311-00. It will cost you between $15-20.00 . I just installed mine today, it was the same length as the factory 400EX cable and it was a very clean install.

I'm using a TRX300 utility quad cable on mine & it works great - not sure how it compares to the stock cable's length since it's been so long since I've had a stock cable, but it fits nicely.

This is the cable to use if you don't want to risk your quad's reliability with Yamaha parts :)

Oops thats the clutch cable Im thinking of, been so long since I had my quad together I forgot for a minute.
