I recently bought a 2002 400ex.The bike is completly stock. After 2 days of riding it.I want a little more torque. It will be a month or so before I will be able to afford anything for it.I am pretty sure the first thing I am going to get is an exhaust.

I have it narrowed down to white bro's,LRD,and big gun.

I am mainly looking for a little more torque but alot more top-end.

Would a slip on be enough if I ground the header pipe welds.I have heard a full system on a 400 has only marginal gains over a slip on with a stock motor.Which this motor is stock and will probably be for a long time.(until it's time to rebuild.)

Any thoughts?

BTW I love this Bike!

The full system will of course give you more gains. Its just that with a mostly stock motor those gains won't make themselves as known till you get a little deeper in the motor. A slip on for now would do you fine. Easier on the wallet too.

I like my 400 too, its like my R but different:D

If you want more top end get a 16t front sprocket
