View Full Version : hairline crack on frame

the crack is rite above the shock mount and its a hairline crack.... what should i weld this MIG or TIG?

its a mild steel frame...it wont be a big concern with either process you use.

id use the mig but if your are worried about strength you should always use a stick welder(lot more strength than mig). thats what i did on my 300 ex frame. at first i thought i just had a crack in the paint but after jumping it opened up pretty good. it was the verticle brace under the seat and infront of the battery. all i did was stick welded it without added a brace and have had zero problems. iv beat on it harder than ever and it still hasnt broke.
