View Full Version : I raced my first Moto

i went too murry kentucky last night (saturday november 9) and raced my first motocross! i ran beginner quad. i have a 400ex with nerfs, turf tamers, jet kit air filter, just basic things..well the gate dropped and me and a 250r i think pulled the holeshot, it was neck and neck! well i placed 4th overall but keep in mind i was against 10,000$ quad, there were a few 250r's and YFZ450's because you can run any quad in beginner. i really liked it so im going too try to do it more often. hopefully i can get good!

How about you guys tell us about YOUR first race, how it went and all!

i got my nerfs on about 2 days ago and my kill switch about 2 weeks ago. those are required. on the way there, i picked up the jet kit and air filter and oh man did it help! it didnt take 5 minutes too put them on! i love the setup on my ex! good luck in gettin started! it is soo addicting but i guess its better than doing drugs and the other bad things in life!

Good job, moto seems like so much fun, now that I got my 400EX, well I have had it for about 5 months I want to start trying to get into some amateur races or something where I can compete against other people, just have to find the time and get the info.:)

I raced my first MX last wk end with the guys and WOW!!!! What a rucsh! I still can hear that gate dropping and the roll of thunder of all those Quads rushin for the holeshot!:macho I literally had dreams the first night after the race:p Glad you had a good time keep it up and be safe.;) Tina ........

good job man you did better then me. but at my track theres one quad class the bikes range from 250ex to custum crf450r so i got last my first race lol

yea too bad he cant ride worth a **** an he placed 4th outta 6...now he thinks hes the stuff

had 3 quads in my class ..... holeshotted banshee and half track my whole class :cool: ... even caught 2 of the ameture class that went out before us :blah: :devil:

Congrats EXrider! Pretty sweet and nerve racking at the same time huh? Nothing beats experience though. Pretty soon your starts will get better and you will learn to breathe while you are racing, sounds silly, but I used to pretty much hold my breath for a whole moto! Now I relax and just go for it!
