What oil do you guys think i should run in the bottomend of my R. Right now I'm running 80w but I've heard it's too think for the R motor. So i read in the clymer book and it says run 10-40w. I was just wondering which would be the best for my motor?

If it is abover 40 degrees Fahrenheit, run 10W-40. If it is colder, run 10W-30. If it is consistently close to 90 or 100 degrees out, you can run 20W-40 or 20W-50.

Torco MTF. It flows good and has good cushining, I think it is 80w. I was running Spectro 80 and would swear by it but in the R it does not flow well enough and prematurely was wearing the clutch actuating rod. I went through 3 of them in a couple years. Its also not that expensive. Smells like garlic though:blah:

After having a few 250R's over the years the best oil to run in the 250R is the Honda 85W Trans. Oil. I have experienced with different oils and I have found this to be the best. Tom

I have always ran 15-40 in the summer and 10-30 in the cooler weather.
