250EX Tires

We need new tires on the 250 ex, but my son wants to go with 20x11x9 Razr's in the back. The original one's in the back were 22x10x9. Will the smaller ones ride ok or should we stay with the original size?:confused:

Mechanically, there is nothing to worry about. They are going to cause a slight reduction in ground clearance. The advantages are better low end and more stable ride. As far as top end, i have never seen speed runs taken on a 250 with 22's then with 20's. There technically should be a decrease in top speed. But, the shorter tire will allow the motor rev higher and easier. So, the top speed will probably not suffer as much as you think.

I put 20's on the wifes and she lost a little top end but it handles better and takes off alot better as for ride it is pretty similar.
