I told Freeride132 we should go to the next H/M ride even tho we do MX:macho Whats H/M like?

wyndzer
11-05-2003, 06:48 PM
I ride MX, XC and evrything in between. I even used to TT a couple years ago. H/M is trail riding at it's best. Some fast, some technical, but most of all it's fun and a change from the norm.

11-05-2003, 06:51 PM
hmm woods and mud:(

11-05-2003, 06:52 PM
Im not a big Hill Climber:( There any big ones and are the trails wide?

So ur saying u guys like riding quads but, u dont like hills or trail riding?:huh

11-05-2003, 08:02 PM
No i like riding trails, just no mud and no hills (im talking steep) Its pointless to ruin a 20k quad by letting it roll down a hill and getting it all scatched to hell:(

toby400ex
11-05-2003, 08:11 PM
ooo, no scratchy boo boo's i dont let mine roll down hills and race cross country, its got some steep hills, and trees that scratch stuff:)

then I suggest you dont go or get another quad... your pretty little quad will NOT come back the same way after a HM ride (if you ride it).

I'm with ya on that freeride. I don't care much for mud either, but Wyndzer's right. H/M trails are the best. I ride them all the time. You get a wide range of riding types, everything you can think of, except MX.

We have no room for pansies on the hatfield trips...:macho

Be prepared to ride in torentual down pours, were small creeks coming off the mountain turn to lakes while your driving up the mountain thru these newly formed lakes. We ride hard and fast. Your quad and yourself will get muddy. I like MX too but i'v yet to find a paved MX track that has no mud or dirt. You own an ATV, which is for off road use. Sell it and buy a sewing machine if your skeert to get it dirty. :blah:

All people are welcome and so are the dads..:D

PS..we also bring along a portable porch that way if ya can't hang with the big dogs you got a place to sit and wait...

i've rode tonz of trails everywhere... and h.m. is by far the nastiest, most dangerous, fastest, muddiest, bumpiest stuff i've ever been threw... there were times i was behind rico and pappy running 5th gear doggin rocks the side of softballs... with a cliff that u look out to ur left and all u see is blue sky and trees down the bottom...

just sittin there listen to everyone talk and joke around with each other was enouf fun... the camp fire sittin around it is flat out unblievable...

the trails were really fun... if u can think of every possible type of woods riding throw it together into one and u got h.m.

fast wfo sections
bumpy rutty sections
rocky sections
flyin up grape vine thickets
sections as wide as ur quad
jumpin threw cricks and huge water holes
groomed trails
ROADS!!!! 5th gear tapped wide down
hills with ledges of rocks u have to go up over (i thought i was dead there more then once haha)
etc...

u can't even imagine it till u actually go once... i know i never in my wildest dreams woulda thought it was that much of a crazy fun time...

the best part of the whole thing... it was a new trail every min on and the pace was so fast u had no clue what to expect around the next turn... it coulda been anything and thats what was really fun about it...

ok i sound like a sales man!!!:blah:

1st off... shellz jumped the one lil double and thats bc i practically made her do it... i've jumped everything on that track but 3 jumps... i rode out there with a broken collar bone the one time... i know its not a excuse but u gotta remember that...

i would hit the big step up... but the fact of the matter is this... take it for what its worth... i have a stk shock rear end on my 400, i have no axle and i have +1 a-arms in the front with 6 ply tires... now think about what ur sayin... i am by far a ****ty quad rider anymore bc i never ride... but if i was 2 screw up hittin that jump with that set up i would be hurting and heres proof... banshee guy and sparks... both had stk rear shocks... came up short bounced and it was all over... a stk rear shock 400ex just can't take that hit and u know it... i know it and its not worth it for me to get hurt over... i don't have to have that kinda pride to feel good about my self and make myself better... i can prove it in other ways... lik doin the woods corse on 18 tires with no front fenders in the mud and stickin with pappy...

like i've said b4 i have nothin to prove to u guyz... i've gone to rausch and i've flat out told people i don't like jumpin... i do it when i have 2 but i don't like it... u woudln't like it either if u rode a racetrack 3 times a summer and the only jump u have to hit is at rausch... no practice will just end up gettin u hurt and for what???? a picture or to brag at rausch... look at u... u hit that new double and about ate it hard... if u woudln't have had full long travel axis u know u woulda been hurting... i know my limits why push them and get hurt for nothing...

i'm not flamin nor argueing here... just tryin to show u the way i think about the jumps...

and yes curt is a man of lil to no words...

11-06-2003, 07:30 PM
For one, i have reg axis

2. you barely did ne jumps (ie. Big step up, new double, single to table, big table, double double section)

3 Dont blame it on shocks and stuff. (look at the thread of BlasterBTW, stock warrior hitting everything)

I'll bet you $500 cash that you can't beat that fat man up trail 14 at Bearwallow. And I ain't jokin....

Why is that MX guys are always the ones trying to talk trash about XC guys, never the other way around

Oh by no means am I talking trash. I like riding XC stuff. Helps me train. I may even run some next yr.

Besides, Johnny G is my hero:)

If youre good, i'll be the first to say "Damn old man, youre fast as hell" and shake your hand:cool:

I'll get some pics of me hitting the biggest double at our local track ( with a messed up shoulder that needs surgery :macho ), it's only abot 60 - 70 feet depending how far down the landing you hit. Where are yours?

.

hahaha tell that to jon, his took it fine and i know he goes bigger than everyone else, the stock rear suspension isnt bad at all, a lil crash never hurt anybody
