popping when i let off the gas

Hey when I usally go WOT on my EX and let go of the gas my exhaust does a popping sound not to loud but noticbely. Does this mean im rich or lean or is it nothing to worry about?

whats your jetting, including pilot size and fuel skrew location?? i would bet you just need to turn the fuel skrew out a bit.

A deceleration pop is a sure symptom of a lean condition.

my engine isnt hot though its like normal.. My main jet is like a 155 or 158 and all I have is a WB eseeris slip on and a air filter with holes in the air lid.


It doesnt do it all the time

like 1/16th of the time im riding it does it

like myabe 4 times in a 3 hour trail ride

Look for an exaust leak where the header and the silencer come togeather. Put some high-temp silicon there, that should help. Try somthing like this.

make sure you don't have an exhaust leak. if not, i would bet your a little lean on the fuel skrew or needle.

Check for an exhaust leak where the slip on meets the header.
