I have absolutley no clue...but I'm just gonna take a guess...and see how many I get right...

Yamaha Banshee
Yamaha YFZ 450
Honda TRX450R
Kawasaki KFX400
And..uh...I dunno a last one, I'd like to say Honda 400EX...but they rn't super fast stock:huh

Again...these are just guesses, I really don't know, lol

I'm not sure now a days what the top 5 would be, but I would guess the LT500 and Cannondale are the top 2 fastest in stock form.

well one thing I DO know is that the Shee is no longer the fastest quad out there,in an all out drag, hmmmm Im gonna guess the new YFZ,Predaotr and the DS are the three top but I not sure what order, then maybe the Raptor? .hm Ill have to think about this a little more

Banshee this is true. we need solid numbers :) .. Anybody seen any shootouts on top speeds, I dont remember all the other quads, but I do know the Predator was slightly faster in one shootout I read, and one mentioned the DS as being fastest overall, I just dont remember all the quads they tested with it....:confused:

I think the Banshee has the quickest acceleration, but one of the lowest top speeds (just above the 400EX). I've seen the top-speed chart before, I think the Predator and YFZ450 knock the banshee out of top 5.

Not in order, I'd say LT500, YFZ450, C'dale, Predator, Raptor. Maybe the Tecate instead of one of the others. Maybe the DS650.

So, that's my top 7, just as the question asked :blah:

when i bought my dale we took it to little sahara and all it had was nerfs/bumper/and tag handlebars.
--i beat a raptors, and predators.
--when i added my HMF i beat piped yfzs too..

glad the 450r got up there, i know it has been out a good while and proven its self. yamadog? we'll see. as of now the 400ex is still hondas biggest production bike. and i think that the yfz450 just might beat it.

well i have beat a piped yfz, a piped banshee, and a piped raptor on my stock dale. All were fairly close though so I'm gonna say.

The pred might be up there, but I'm not sure. This is stock vs. stock? I don't think the raptor and banshee should be there, but they man do they take to mods!

Depends on the year.

All quads made now according to the CPSC have a max speed of 75 mph.

Before the consent degree the LT500 was around 80 mph and got there in a hurry.

Top Speed all time.

1987 LT500R
1987 Yamaha Banshee (older Banshees were faster)
DS650 (can easily pull taller gearing to go over 80 mph)

I'd have to agree pretty closely for what you had on the top speeds, especially since it is a pure top speed only, and isn't based on any "well I beat this bike with this and that set-up..." I'd be surprised if the real results were only slightly different than this; assuming you could ride all the bikes, EXACTLY the same, with the exact same conditions, and throw out any variables that would screw up the top speed runs.

Troy and I were talking and I amleaning toward the LT500 for top speed, although I Do think the Predaotr is faster than the Raptor(this is in STOCK form). Im going to dig up my last few issues and see what the shootout was .Or its gonna drive me batty.So Luecker~~~ I didnt even THINK about the consent thing. You guys are giving alot of credit for a v-force on top end speed stock. With a couple mods it will go alot faster, but stock they aren't very fast on the top end.

I would have to say stock machines the cannondale is right up there. I don't know about the lt500 because I never rode one. I don't believe a stock banshe could clear 70 mph. Remeber I said stock. I know with a little bit of work their top end goes to the moon.

yeah your dads speedo needs to be checked. I rode a piped and all the little stuff pred, and it had more power than my 400ex. But it sure as heck didnt do 90mph.

I know when you YFZ came out Yami said it would do 74 and the only thing faster was the Raptor at 75. And i have always heard the DS is just behind the raptor. I don't know where the GAS GAS comes into play but the Cdale and preditor would round out your top 5
