Hello Guys!, I just got my 426 JE and stage 2 hot cam, is pump gas ok ????

80% will say it's not OK

20% will say it is OK

It will run but I don't see it running as strong as it could with a higher octane mix..

How do you like the power on your 416 Rico??

I agree with Rico. A guy I know just built a 11:1 JE 416 with stage II hotcam and he has to run 50/50 mix.

I run a 10.8:1 piston in mine and it runs fine on pump. I like to mix it with 110 octane for the extra boost and cooler running temps. I am very happy with my 416. I"ve had it for 2 years now and it's slowly starting to smoke on startup. If i had to do over again I'd not change a thing about the bore or comp. of the piston. It's reliable as it gets..

Would you have to run pure race gas if you installed a 440 kit?

Running race gas mainly depends on the compression ratio and heat so you don't get pre detonation at high temperatures. This is why you a liquid cooled engine can run a higher compression on pump gas.

That's what I was thinking but I wanted to see first. Does anyone know the highest compression ratio that comes with a 440 kit that you can run pump gas on?

Most people say 10.8:1 is the highest you can go on pump.

Thats so true. Ive had alot of people ask why the YFZ can run 12.5 on pump gas but a EX cant and I tell them its cause its liquid cooled
