My plug is a frosted white color and my 400 is sounding kind of rough.

Two questions:

What happens if you run your machine lean?

How do I get that spark plug to be a 'golden brown'?

Thanks,
Mike

go up 2-3 jet sizes on the main jet size
so if its a 150, go 3 up from there, next one might be 152, next 155 ETC, (2nd to 3rd jet size up from your exsisting main jet)

your a little lean on one of the jets. a little lean probally won't hurt your bike but its not good either. lean will make it run a little hotter than normal. i think i read that you just bought a slip on right?? i am not sure what temp your riding in or what altitude your at, but i would get a 42 pilot jet and a 152 mainjet. make sure you get keihin jets since we have keihin carbs. i personally don't mess with those jet kits but instead buy individual keihin jets from a honda dealer or C&D. you will be fine with these two jets year round if you don't feel like tuning it each month (even though i do) as the temperature, humidity, etc changes given that you don't live in a total different environment than i do.
