Putting on a 01' raptor rear on my 300, good idea, bad idea? Have heard alot about it but what is the real deal, does it work good?

Yep thanks got the PM, I tried a reply to your pm, they said it was full. I guess you will need to clear out some space. Thanks for the info.

its a great cheap mod, just make sure you buy a shock with a remote rez. a piggy back rez will hit the swingarm, thats why its needs to be from an 01 model (if you usung a yammy shock, all the aftermarkey places use a remaote rez rear i think)

Yep, thanks for the input Bradley300, it says it is an 01 but it has a piggyback(no good) The ohlins I was talking about is a different one that says it is from a "no link" suspension and has a remote rezzie. Any chance that this would work. He doesn't know what it came off.

Thanks

Find out the size from bolt hole to bolt hole.

Someone on bluetraxx told me that the 02 raptor also uses a remote rezzie. Im not sure if that is true. But I figured I would pass that along. Im looking for one myself.:bandit:

nope, 02 raptor updates included a stronger tranny and axle, better looking radiator and piggy back rez.

not only does the length from bolt hole to bolt hole have to be right, the bushings have to be the right width.

there are very few quads w/o a linkage

300ex, blaster, mojave, cannondale or aftermarket r's, has to come off of one of them

So what do you gain by using this shock?

well, i have never done any measurements, but i bet you gain some travel.

the shock also has a rez, (300 does not) is compression adjustable (300 is not) rebound adjustable (300 is not) and the shock is rebuildable (300 is not)

just a better shock all the way around
