I think I know why they did this. I talked who tested one of these. I guess these guys were taking the 250 engine out of that bike and putting the 500 in that frame (motorcycle)

So they had all these 250 engines laying around with nothing to do with them. So someone got the idea to start putting them in the 400 frame.

It makes sense. Those things are a rip off.

actually it comes with ohlins all the way around.

it wasnt an abundance of 250 motors, it was because of the surplus of 400ex frames......

all it is is a gusseted 400ex frame with a cr250 motor in it...

I talked to the owner and that is FACT!

fmf helped design the pipe on th 400ex/cr250 hybrid

Yeah you are 100% right. Thanks for clearing this up, alot of confusion about what is going on.

They gussetted the frame to allow for the higher horsepower cr250, but isnt the cr250 not counterbalanced, etc... seems like alot of vibration.

yea bike engines arent counterbalanced, so they will shake appart i think in the lonmg run a non counterbalanced engine is gonna cost you more money in replacing parts on the frame and take its toll on your body just my .02
