i have itp t-9 pro rims on my 400ex. When i torqe them to hondas specs the nuts sink into the rims. has anyone else heard of this?

there is a huge difference in the wheels. The factory wheels have tapered nut inserts that match up with the automobile style tapered lugnuts. The ITP's you have on there do not have the tapered inserts. You have two options...turn the factory lugs around (tapered side out)...or, order a set of new flange nuts from Rockymountain. They are specifically for Honda's.

The tapered lugs can take more torque to tighten up. The flange (flat) mounts cannot take nearly as much. On mine..i only put as much torque as a 3/8 in. rachet and my wrist can handle. I never "crank" on them. Haven't had a problem yet......
