I just got the E-Series for my 300ex. I put it on, and its leaking exhaust between the headpipe and the silencer. Is there supposed to be some kind of gasket type thing in the silencer? There was something in the stock muffler, it was like a sos pad type material. I was told I don't need anything like that, but was told by someone else that I need that extra protection. I'm going riding tomorrow, and I need to know what to do soon! Thanks.

I am not sure this completely answers your question but hope it helps.

I did not re use the gasket with the FMF pipe on my 400EX and it works fine but when we put the WB E on a raptor it was way too loose and we did re use it.

So I guess what I am saying is if it seems to leak and you still have the old gasket just re use it.

On the 400ex you do no use a gasket for the WB pipe. I know this because I have the WB for my 400ex. And my friend hasa a WB for his 300ex, and yes you do need a new gasket for the WB pipe for the 300ex. It costs like $15 too!
