Ok, i just got done putting on my shiny new DMC Alien system and K&N Filter and Jet kit. I know that alot of you say that going to a 42 Pilot is advised. When i put in the jet kit, i followed the directions word for word. It seems to run great. I understand that the kit told me to readjust the mixture screw instead of giving a new pilot jet. So, i did exactly what K&N said and it seems to work great. Am i the only one who didn't know that the jet kit DIDN'T come with the new pilot?! Has asyone had any problems going this route? Love my kid and don't want to mess 'er up!

DMC....best 500 bones i've spent! Starts in 2nd gear just as easy as first. Also, i didn't think it was possible to hit the rev limiter in 4th gear....CAN NOW!!!:D :macho

i never changed my pilot and my quad w/ the pipe, jet kit and K&N runs better than new. Starts instantly in freezing weather with little choke. Its great! I have a 155mj and didnt touch the pilot.

I was told by Tom Carlson of TC Racing that you can adjust the air screw enough for 2 sizes of the pilot jet. So I guess if you adjust the pilot then you do not need to replace the pilot jet.

Some 400's start easy in cold weather & some do not. If it starts o/k & runs good don't worry about it. If its a bear to crank & warm up, put a 40 or 42 in it. Mine seems to start & warm up a little better with a 40 in it, but it wasnt a must have.

I just put a 42 pilot in mine and it was the best thing i ever did. I could barely get mine to start in the cold but now i can start it without the choke with minimal work and with the choke like its summer even though it was 2 out today. It was well worth the $2.60 for me but its very cold out up here in VT

Texan32, did you use the #170 in that kit and if you did have you noticed any kind of rich condition? My buddy wareagle400ex (He and I are both here at Minot AMMO) installed the DMC system with the 170 and started fouling plugs. Just wondering if you have ran into this at all.

I have a Yohsimura slip-on, K&N Power kit, and stock airbox, put in the 146 DYNOJET main as specified, and DYNOJET needle on 3rd clip, stock pilot, but mixture screw around 3.5-4 turns out or so, starts fine easy w/o choke.

No, i used the 165. I ran up and down along side of the highway (from tires plus over to sport yack 2 times). From what i could tell, it ran like a dream. I only turned the mixture screw out 3 turns though.
