Need help with how to change the rear brake pads on a '97 300EX. Do we have to bleed the brakes in order to be able to install the new pads? Thanks!

No, you won't need to bleed them!

Jeff-How come we can't get the brake pads in, after removing the old ones? Do we need some special tool or something? Guess we need some better step-by-step info. Thanks! (Jerry's not a prob:blah: )

susan we just used a c clamp to push the calipers( i think) back in to make enough room for the pads to fit on:)

dont forget to back that parking brake bolt off. then use the c clamp to push the piston back in. then you should have enough room to slide on your new pads.

Ok....back the parking brake adjuster on the side of the caliper all the way out. This will allow the piston to open all the way to get the new pads in. Just put a little sylicone in the hole untill you can get a blockoff plate.
