Are 300ex and 400ex wheels the same?

Hello,

I just bought a 400ex with old tires, and I want to put the new Maxxis Razr's from my 300ex onto the 400ex. Do I have to change the tires (a ton of work), or are the 300ex and 400ex wheels the same?

The wheels are the same as far as bolt pattern. They will work. I don't know if they are the same, as far as offset though.

Yes, I was wondering about the offset. I could try to measure it, but it looks hard to measure just eyeballing the offset to the edge of the rim. I looked up the part numbers at www.servicehonda.com , and they are listed under different part numbers, but that could just be an tracking thing.

I have my stock 400EX tires on my 300EX. They look the same. It handles much better without the balloon tires on the back. The only thing is going from a 22 to a 20 inch rear tire, you loose a little ground clearance. There again, I can not help you with the offset. They look the same. Good Luck
