That's crazy - and really sad. It's bad enough that he lost his shop - but to loose his house and all person possesions at the same time??, ouch.

weird, how the hell did the stuff around that thing not get torched if fire was spreading like that?

you should see track homes that were burned. fire burned houses randomly, sometimes destroying entire rows of homes, other times burning one house than jumping over an adjacent house than burning the next house. it looked pretty weird.

thats truley sad. jesse is a genuinley nice guy and nobody deserves that. i think we should get a big donation thing together for him and his family on the behalf of exriders.

This is a REALLY good idea. We have enough members and clout on this site to make a sizeable donation.

Maybe we talk to Paypal, and see if they would be willing waive the fees for donations. This would make it REALLY easy to contribute. With enough $5, $10, and $20 donations, I bet we could raise a couple thousand.

I'm sure he has insurance, but I'm also sure that he's not collecting it yet, that kinda paperwork takes time. Let get a fund together to help him out until his insurance kicks in...

Wilkin - I agree 100%. Me and Bradley300 were talking about this last night when it was first posted. We need to get Harlen or Pappy involved - maybe put up a new post and make it a sticky. And I think we should get a well known memeber that lives out there (dunesurfer maybe?) to be the one we all paypal money too - then he could go see him and give him the check on behalf of exriders. Maybe even take a pic and later Harlen could put up a short write up with the pic on the front page.

We have been in contact with Harlen about this situation, He is going to try to come up with something, no matter what happens we will be donating some way or another..

From what I heard the insurance adjusters won't be in untill the fires are gone, who knows how long that will be.

So, these folks need everything, like basic shirts and pants for everyday life?? Not riding gear?

I'll see what I had to give.

Lets see if we can get the ball rolling on this right away. I'm sure his personal savings are whittling away on clothing, hotels, and meals. He's not likely to see an insurance settlement for several months.

My philosophy, for charities, is that one large sum to one single person or cause is much better and more significant than many small donations. I realize that he's not the only person that suffered losses do to these fires, but sending $0.22 to each person in the San Diego area won't make much of an impact, but here we have a chance to be the heroes...

I think it would probably be a good idea to contact Jesse Wozniak to determine how he would like the money sent. I don't know if he had any personal savings set aside. Let's face it, donations don't roll in overnight, but expenses do. It's entirely possible that a couple hundred right now could be a lifesaver, with the ballance sent at a later date.

A friend of mine was getting sponsered by him and we were arranging shipment to his shop when I got the word on tuesday. Truly sad. I heard he has no ins. on the business, its too new, ect. I am in for some help. lets do something to make atv's look good.

I rode through the area on Mondey where Jesse lives, my mom lives near there and all I can tell you is that area looks like the moon for as far as the eye can see. Jesse has done some work with us at TBR Products and we're going to see what we can do as well.

Best wishes to Jesse and his family.

try sending gift certificates from places like sears...wal-mart...etc. a $10 or $20 that they can use to buy what they need. paypal might not work unless their computers lived thru the fire.

im sure M.O. would b ok...but then they have to go cash it. they need the bare essentials...easily obtained at well known stores.
