I am thinking about getting an afternarket swingarm in a month or so and dont know alot about Burgards, Ive heard alot of good things about most their products, for $525 I could get a standard or +1.25 and another $125 if I want them chrome. I like the lonestar alot but have heard of them having a few weak spots and they are a little more pricey, any suggestion on what brand I should go with, who to buy from, and what length would be best for MXing, not tight indoor stuff.

atvfourplay does look like a nice swingy.

the lsr swinger on my 300 is holding strong for 2 years now, no problems so far.

burgaurd has some nice stuff to, and its usually cheaper than lsr, so i would say burgard is worth a shot

What's the word on roll Design, I have seen their stuff and have talked with Doug Roll a few different times. He takes steps that I haven't heard other people taking in prodcuing swingarms.

Fabrication from sheet stock or tubing, what's the pro's and cons, I'd like to know your guys oponions.

How much different are the prices from a Roll to everyone else?

$100, $200, ?????

Is the price worth the quality, or is everyone else building just as good stuff?

i called Roll on a price for the yfz swinger and its 1200:eek2:

10-29-2003, 11:47 AM
I bought my houser swinger for around $450

Roll's price for a 400ex swinger is over $900 :eek2:

Nice stuff yes, but paying $400 more bucks for the fancy roll lobo stickers is a little steep...:o

And his stuff breaks just like everyone elses.. so i don't wanna hear it...:blah:

I have personally been using Burgard Cycles Products since I built my first 400ex back in 1999. Burgard Cycle took the time to teach me the advantages and disadvantages of running different setups on my EX. I was totally new to the performance parts and didn't even know how to install them. He had one of his employees help me install everything on my quad. I have been using his products ever since.

Since then, I have went through atleast 5 different atvs, and I constantly bought Burgard products to run on my quads. Today, I am a good friend of Burgards, but I remember back when I didn't know anything, he was as great help. His products have held up great for the amount of abuse that I have given them. Yes, I have broke a swingarm and I even bent a A-arm, but they weren't caused by a flaw in his product. A tree impact bent the A-arm and he replaced it at a discount. The swingram cracked from racing cross country for 1.5 seasons of pounding rocks. My linkage was destroyed and my frame was cracked through in several places to name a few failures from the stress of racing. Burgards goal is that his products are strong enough to survive atleast one full season of racing. No, product will last forever if it is abused, but I am very happy with my Burgard Cycle products escpecially for the Great pricing.

Burgards is only $700, plus you can use either YFZ or 250R/400EX Components. His comes with the Dual row Carrier and Caliper Bracket.

Yeah they really did the math on the YFZ and have a damn good price to back it up.

I know this stuff wont last a lifetime, but I do want good products. Ive heard nothing nut great things about Burgards service department, to me a strong product isnt what makes them good, I like dealing with down to earth honest guys. :Cough: Not hotcams :Cough:

I don't think you can go wrong with the Burgard stuff. He seems to have good service too.

There's no doubt the Roll stuff is awesome though.

When its comes to Christmas presents I say roll all the way, my brother got a roll steering stem for less than $200 on here like new, and they go for $350:eek2: . Even for $350 though I think it is worth the money, feels real stiff but soaks up the vibrations a ton.

Its a hard decision between swingarms though cause the houser and burgard look nice, the the atv4play one looks even more trick, but I dont know much about them

10-29-2003, 09:17 PM
yeah i still got 2 yr left on my warranty from rpm, i trust rpm more than any other company

yea, they sent me a new one, said the only one they can send me is a 86 modle. i ride a 89 which is shorter. so we had to cut a inch out of it and also the ears on the pivit spot. but it hled up this year to give me 3rd in 250B at the GNCC. but for next year it is comming off. after that I will never buy off of them again and not recomend them. hopefully for them it was a fluk, but they said all of that modle was breaking. and that is why i got a 86 modle

sounds like they corrected thier mistake, admitted to a flaw and gave you a new one with no flaw.... that there should say alot about a company...customer freakin service...its what makes products better and better...not a name or high price

RPM all the way!!!! Their products are second to none - I don't know a single person who has bought a swingarm of theirs that has had any problems with it! No "weak welds", no poor fitting, and they hold up to the abuse you can dish them! They usually have stuff in stock and ready to ship right when you order it, too.
