I heard several times during the season that something needed to be done about the starting situation at the GNCC's, but I am not sure anything ever was. What I am referring to is the mad rush to the starting line in order to get a decent spot. You know what I'm talking about, the way they line up 300 riders coming from 4 directions and everyone pins it across the field. Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas, suggestions, that we could give to the RP crew to make things a little better.

I think if I had to start on row 2 I would be movin to different class, I hate to get dirty that fast. I at least want to make it to the woods before I get roosted.

Besides I lose my lunch before each race just thinking about the start and we usually on have about 25-35 in our class, you guys with 60+ are animals!:macho

Back to the thread question. I think the top 10-15 riders in all classes should be allowed to enter earlier than the rest. This could be accomplished simply by passing out a additional colored arm-band during sign up or inspection and those with those arm bands would be allowed to enter line 15 min prior to rest of field.

Usually its those 10-15 guys that go to all of them and are running for points so why should they have to compete for starting grid against 10-15 first time locals.

I like the idea, but I think whatever is done to solve the problem is going to have to be little to no work for the RP crew. They don't care who gets to the line first, whether your a top amateur or a first time local racer, they just don't want anyone getting hurt or crossing in the track.

I think the first come first serve is a good idea, but I think in addtion to that they need to have only one way in to the starting line,I believe that would help more than anything. They could have like three lanes to line up in,something like they did at Millfield this year. Just my 2 cents

how about letting people line up after tech inspection?

Take your quad through tech then go park it on the line. and then walk back to the line for the riders meeting and the start.

Just a thought.

i think they should call people to the line by their national #. start with non-pro 1-50. then 51-100, 101-150, 151-200. then all riders without earned numbers. they could line up the pros while they were calling up the last group. then we wouldnt have to wait so long after we got to the start area.
