400ex thumb throttle on a 250r?

Has anyone done this? I need to know if the 250r cable will fit the 400ex throttle. This 250r throttle isn't comfortable anymore. Thanks in advance. :confused:

The two throttles are completly different! You can make the 400 ex work but you will have to modify it so the carb will open all the way!! I am looking for a 250r thumb throttle and have a 400ex thumb throttle. I would trade and make the 400 ex work for you!!

Heck you can put any thumb throttle on any carb....when i had my R it came with a twist throttle....after my crash and was able to walk on my own and i got the car back i drove out to my local dealer and bought one they had for 30 bucks (i love connections :devil: ) anyway, the cable was very different BUT, my R had a 39mm carb off a Cr 250 dirtbike the tops were completely different....long story short, i called up Motion Pro, shipped both carb and throttle out to them and they custom made a cable for me (i had 2 made,spare) Worked great and didnt cost me an arm and a leg :D Good luck and hopee that helps some

I have a 400ex thumb throtle on my atc250r, you have to adjust the cable all the way out for it to work, I just got a universel cable from motion pro, haven't tryed it yet. Also I use a 38 a/s carb, don't know about how it would work for a stock carb.

400ex wont work unless u cut the thumb throttle out so the arm inside the throttle will move further if u dont do that it wont open wide open.
