i have heard from many people that 400ex spindles help with the bump steer on the 300-400 front end conversion. i had some 250r spindles and threw them on there and the tires where leaning in bad. i thought the spindles were the same?

Nope, they are different.

I just talk to Jeff at the Quad shop about this today and he says that the real problem is the steering shaft to spindle relationship. That is what throws off the geometry in this conversion with either spindle set up.

thats correct, i experimented with the conversion, and after jeff did some research and i did some riding, we ditched the 400ex front end but gained a 300ex long travel kit.

use the 300ex to 400ex upper shock mount relocater, 300ex a-arms (plus 2 w/ 4=1 wheels have been used so far) i believe the shocks for this set up are 17 inches long double check with jeff, they may be 16 inches), tripple rates made by elka. dave maccaroll has been usuing this front end since the millfield ohio gncc and says it handles better than his 400ex (wich has dual rate axis shocks)
