ur brake lines will work, u will need 400ex tie rods, if u have the money for the works just get them made specifically for what ur doing and u dont need 400ex spindels either, 300ex spindels are better anyway since theyre steel

I like mine a lot, here's some really good info I made a pretty long post on about the 3rd page.

Yes, that's true. The 400ex spindles give less bump steer but you also lose a little turning radius. Mine would turn a little better on tight trails when I had the 300ex spindles.

susp. travel wise, your better off using the 300ex a arms and spindles.

if you are looking for the xtra width of the 400ex a-arms. use the 400ex spindles also, the 400ex tierods ends bolt in a different location and 400ex spindles.

Really? So your saying the ideal setup for more travel is 300ex arms and spindles, and 400 ex shocks? What exactly is holding the stock 300ex suspension back?

You can't use the 300 a-arms and 400 shocks. Both the a-arms and the shocks are too short. The width is worth it. The 400 shocks are almpost 3 inches longer which is where most of the extra travel comes from. You need the 400 a-arms to keep close to the 400 geometry. Other wise your far too stiff. It'd be like running stock a-arms and shocks valved for +2. Basically the shocks are holding the 300 back. They're vavled and sprung light and don't have a lot of travel.

Brad is correct, you are better off getting arms desighned for the 300 and using 400ex shocks with an upper mount. This is a proven setup by 2 time GNCC Sport class champion Dave Maccarroll!
The 400 arms on a 300ex are a bad setup!

no, if your going for more travel, use all componets made for a 300ex. the tierods bolt in a diff. spot on the steering stem, and using 400ex spindles only cures half the problem b/ the 3/400 spindles are different.

this is really only a good setup for a cheap way to go wider for flat track

Re-reading I didn't realize that Bradley300 was talking about aftermarket 300ex a-arms, I thought he meant stock 300 arms and 400 shocks.

So I could use my STOCK 300ex arms, and put on some 400ex STOCK shocks and gain more travel? I know id have to relocate the upper mount, but is that it?

yup, might want to confirm with jeff that the custom elkas that dave macarol used are in fact 16 inch, if they are, that is all you will need. 300ex arms, relocater and shocks

Yes, the shocks used on Dave's bike are 400EX length shocks valved and sprung for that perticular setup. Here is a pic of his bike.

Here's my custom made flattrack set up & I can tell you it handles awesome on the track but I don't do any jumpin like this!!! I bought some 400 shocks for the front but haven't done that yet since my flattrack season is starting on Sat. night!! maybe when we start the rough scramble I'll try them but I think it'll set up too high for me.
