In mine, I put on a big gun complete exhaust, arias 10.5 to 1 piston, wb.440 lift cam, kibble white stainless steel valves, valve springs, DID heavy duty cam chain, barnett clutch kit, ported head, I used a dyno jet stage 2 kit, removed the airbox lid, put on a proflow, and installed a 1 tooth bigger front sproket.

Simple things would be a slip on exhaust, the proflow is a must because the stock air box is junk, and a 1 tooth bigger front sproket.

Or he could trade it in on a new yfz450

flip your front shocks upside down ;) they will be real soft...bottom out over small jumps but absorb bumps alot better through trails & what not

I'd say just put the normal mods to start out with (Pipe, Filter, Jetting). After that definetly go to the suspension. Widen it and put quality shocks on it. Its just an old and heavy design. Depending on what you do for the money he should have went with a 400ex or something around the lines especially since there getting cheaper. Hope that helps:)

Mine will run away from a "stock" 400ex:confused:

It's up to him, since 400's are so cheap now, one of them would be a much better starting point.

I got 2 used warriors for 3 grand, putting money into mine was worth it at the time

A buddy of mine has a warrior thats bored out 1mm, a bit more compression, all around cam, DG exhaust and head work. It didnt respond very well with those mods. Hes not real happy with it.
He feels like he put alot of money into it and didnt get anything out of it.

I felt the same way about mine until I broke it in, and figured out the jetting. And I'm only running 10.5 to 1 compression.

Even though it's only 10.5 to 1 it loves a mix of race gas.
