need help on a question on the clutch

when the the quads not moving it wont go into any higher gear than first with the clutch pulled in but if im moving or if the engines off it'll go into any gear

u gotta move the 4 wheeler forward & backwards a little bit to engage...all motors do this ;)

o ok the reason i asked is its never done this before on my 400 ive only had it a week

if your saying what i thinkl your saying you are sitting still on your four wheeler w/o it ruunning? you push it donw into 1st gear....? still not moving, you try to pull it up into 2nd gear & it qwont do it? this is normal dude....you have to roll the rear wheels to engage the gear still, then you can pull it into second...have yo uever owned a manual auotmobile before??? :huh
