be different!!! get a KTM450SX RFS :D

though i'm a Kawi fan i should be suggesting the KX line of bikes, but currently i feel the Honda CR line is better than the Kawis. i also like the Yami 4-bangers.

does he want a 2 or 4 stroker?

I agree...the Yamaha 4 strokes are very nice. If he has some riding experience, doesn't he have an idea of what he wants? He might be looking at a Yamaha 4 stroke 250 if he is not experienced enough to know what bike is right for him?

the deal is he doesnt have THAT much riding experience. most of it was on a two stroke. hes not sure what bike would be good for him. he doesnt know like anything about 4 strokes really but he thinks he might want one. the prob is he doesnt want to get bored with a bike too soon. hes needs a bike that is more then good for him so he can grow into it. btw he's mostly lookin at hondas

if he want a 4-stroke that want get old or boring, go with the Yammi 450, or the honda crf450. Both awsome bike that you would be hard to grow out of

so how does these bikes compare against the crf250f, how much tamer is the 250f over the 450f

The 250f is tamer because of the engine deiffernence, and its a lot light and easier to control

what about the diffs. between speed and power. is it a lot slower and not much torque since its the 450??

sorry about all the q's (they may sound dumb) he really wants to get a bike and so he needs to decide.
