Those fires are about 20 miles away ...as a crow flies. Ironically, the Marines set them by accident. They were doing live fire training. It is on Camp Pendelton land. (government)

Seems like every time the news is on they are covering the fires. I can see one fire from my house right now. It is alot smaller than earlier this morning though. Saw one last night too:confused:

Its pretty bad in SAn Diego County right now. I'm not to close but ash is falling and can see smoke from my house

ya they are all around us here in vista ... my husband's boss lives in valley center where a big fire is going on. fires suck! :(

(i posted this on another website also.)These fires suck bad, everywhere from the Inland empire to Los Angeles smells like your at a campfire that you cannot escape from. I really hope they find the person or person's responsible, if the cause is arson, and burn him or her alive because thats what that person or person's responsible deserve. This fire has already destroyed hundred's of homes and ruined thousands of peoples lives and is still out of control, i only hope that the cause of this fire wasn't from an OHV.

mayor asked that noone go to work 2morrow and all of SD schools are off 2morrow. Im in nashville rite now on business and we cant get home! the airport is closed!!!!! the fire is about 5miles from my house as it stands rite now. :(

I was at my moms house in east chula vista earlier, 3 nieghborhoods including hers had to evacuate. I was up on a hill checking it out, fire was moving pretty fast the smoke was real bad. Its an erie feeling.

They even had to move monday night football to tempe, AZ. For any of you near there the game is free.

I was out over the weekend riding in the Barstow Poker Run and Sunday morning they closed the main freeway (Interstate 15) that everyone uses to get in and out of Barstow as well as Las Vegas. Had to go all the way around the mountains through Los Angeles to get home to Corona. It only took us 2hrs to get to the Poker Run Friday, but took 5hrs to get home on Sunday.

There are a total of 10 fires now streching from San Diego to Los Angeles. A total of over 300,000 acres (about 470 square miles) have gone up and over 850 homes have been destroyed. Almost all of them have 0% containment and are totally out of control. I actually have piles of ash in my yard and it looks like it is snowing with the amount of ash falling sometimes. I live by the Crestline and Rancho Cucamonga fires. Thse two fires have now mergerd into one fire and the fire line is over 15 miles long.

Most of the fires have been started by arsen. Like Glamis400ex said, one was started by the Marines by accident, another was started by a hunter who fired off a flare gun. None of the fires were started by anyone riding quads or ATV's. This happens about this time of year just about every year when we get the santa ana winds blowing. This is worst it has been in over 40 years though.

Pretty crazy out here in So. Cal. right now.

I was working in a new housing developement just before you get to Otay Lake, off Hunte Rd. We could see the smoke coming over from Jamul. The fire came right to the edge of the lake. Maybe that house isn't there anymore... :(

My job is gone, burned to the ground. They are saying that the three fires burning in San Diego county are going to merge at create a fifty mile fire line. Crazy. I have never seen anything like it. Fires burning everywhere.

god d@mn that ash, it feels like a nuclear winter here, we got santa ana winds blowing in from the I.E. and its F'n us up.....been raining ash for about 3 days now....UGGGGGG

My Mom lives off Hunte parkway, at the woods, I don't think any houses have been burnt in that area. I was up on a lot above the tour of elegance and the fire was getting kind close. thats when the fire engines started arriving in that area. I also saw on the news last night that they had set some backfires, i think between the resiviors.
