need help with brakes

i just changed the front brake pads but they are still not that great?
is there an adjustment i missed? or should i change the fluid?
i got an 02 400ex ,i just bought it and it desperately needed brakes,
i just know these are nowhere near close to front brakes on my banshee

They should be as good if not better than your Shee. I'd change the fluid and check to make sure the sliders on the calipers are lubed and working well. Also keep in mind it does take a bit for the pads to wear in. Also make sure your rotors are in good shape. Good luck
