rev limiter kicks on

whenever i ride at night with my lights on the rev limiter kicks on a lot. It doesnt do it all the time though. What could possibly be wrong??it sounds like i am reverse with this happens.
please help me

Sounds like an electrical problem....I would check all the wires if I where you, if that didn't solve anything it might be that your CDI has gone bad? (that's where your limiter is)
