What do you all use to get the baked mud and dirt off of your headers??? and also how would I go about polishing them????

ive never let mine get real bad, wash it pretty much after every ride
ive used steel wool, but i think that the stuff like scouring pads from napa works the best, come in different colors and grades like sand paper comes in different grits

It seems to me if I use such an abrasive material that it will scratch the coating off my headers and then they will rust... unless they are stainless steel... but who knows... I was really looking for a cleaner that will disolve the **** right off the headers. but thanks for the help

sorry didnt see what you had for a system, stock header is stainless so it just shines it up. i dont know about your system.
