400 EX shock on 300 EX ???

I have a 2001 300 EX, and my rear shock is not cutting it. Does any one know what they are rated for for as far as weight and for jump height?
Will a 400EX rear shock fit on my quad? and what is it rated for as far as weight and jump height?
I would like to have a set of Works, but can't afford them . Any help, suggestions, or info is appreciated.

A '01 Raptor rear shock will fit. It has to be an '01 though. The stock rear shock on the 300's isn't good for much except trails. The 400 shock won't work. Good luck.
